Successful migration from radioactive irradiators to x-ray irradiators

Dec 9, 2019

In this report, you can find summarized the effort made since 2010 to reduce and eventually remove the 137Cs irradiators in collaboration with many other institutions, regulatory agencies, law enforcement agencies, and US government agencies. Because the reliable alternative technologies are available now, the phasing out the 137Cs irradiators will eliminate the risk of using the high activity radioactive sources as possible weapons of mass disruption (WMD).
