Flow cytometry
Sartorius Corporation’s high throughput flow technology is the first to enable screening suspension cells, beads, microbes and mixtures. Sartorius instrument, reagent and software solutions have been adopted by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well as research institutes for applications in phenotypic screening, antibody discovery and in vitro toxicity testing.
The patented technology extends the capabilities of flow cytometry by increasing sample throughput far beyond current commercial offerings. The unique sampling method transfers assay components in solution (including cells, beads, yeast and bacteria) to the flow cytometer detector in a continuous, air gap delimited stream. This novel method dramatically reduces the time required to analyze a microplate and the amount of sample required for analysis by eliminating the dead volume inherent in typical flow cytometry sampling and the associated single well data file storage. For example, a 96-well plate can be processed in as little as 5 minutes; 384-well plate is processed in as little as 20 minutes.
