Targeted Size Selection for Next-Gen Sequencing

The Pippin Systems facilitates library construction for the most popular NGS platforms, and is recommended by Illumina and Ion Torrent for certain workflows. The current high-throughput DNA sequencers — including platforms from Illumina, Ion Torrent, and 454 – require tightly sized insert libraries for optimum sequencing performance. The platform features the ability to collect narrow and even fragment distributions, without contamination. Target sizes or ranges of sizes are entered in software, and fractions are collected in buffer.

The BluePippin has the DNA capabilities of the Pippin Prep, plus the extra benefit of pulsed-field electrophoresis for resolving and collecting high molecular weight DNA.  With SDS-agarose gel cassettes, the BluePippin collects targeted protein sizes from complex samples for biomarker or protein modification studies. Target sizes or ranges of sizes are entered in software, and fractions are collected in buffer. Up to 5 samples/gel cassette may be run, with no possibility of cross contamination.

BluePippin automatically collects DNA fragments in range from 90 bp -50kb.
